The not-selling report
The not-selling report lists in-stock products with no sales in the last 60 days, in the daily email and on the Dashboard, on both plans.
Use it to spot stock that isn’t moving and decide whether to discount it, bundle it or stop reordering it. StockDigest only reports: it doesn’t change prices or products.
What counts as not selling
A product variant is on the list when all of these are true:
- It has stock: more than 0 available, across all locations.
- It had no sales in the window, which is 60 days unless you change it.
- It tracks inventory, is active and isn’t a gift card.
- It existed for the whole window. Products and variants created during the window are skipped, because they haven’t had the full time to sell.
Cancelled and test orders don’t count as sales, and neither do refunded units.
Where you see it
- Email: a “Not selling for 60 days” section with the total. It shows up to 5 products, most stock first, then “N more in StockDigest”.
- Dashboard: “Not selling (N)”, with the note “In stock, but no sales in the last 60 days. Consider a discount, a bundle, or not reordering.” The table has Product, Supplier, In stock and Last sale. Up to 200 products are listed.
- Digest history: each day’s count is in the Not selling column, and each digest keeps that day’s list.
The list starts with the products that have the most stock, then those that have gone longest without a sale. Last sale shows the date of the most recent sale, or “None in 60+ days” when there’s none in the sales history StockDigest holds.
When it updates
The list is worked out once a day, when the digest is made. It isn’t live. The Dashboard shows the list from today’s digest only, so each day it’s missing from midnight until that day’s digest is made at your digest time.
Change the window
- Go to Settings.
- Under Low-stock rules, set Count as not selling after to anything from 30 to 120 days.
- Click Save in the bar at the top of the page.
The new window applies from the next digest. 120 days is the limit because StockDigest keeps daily sales for 120 days.
Right after you install
StockDigest starts with the 60 days of sales it imports when you install. If you choose a longer window, the report uses the history it has, then grows by a day each day until it reaches your setting. The email and the Dashboard always say how many days the list covers.
Low and not selling at the same time
A product with a few units left and no sales can be flagged as Low, because its stock is at or below the low-stock level, and also be on the not-selling list. It never gets a reorder amount, because it has no sales. To stop it showing as low, set its Low stock at to 0 in Product overrides. See lead time, cover days and the low-stock level.
For more on the report, see the not-selling report overview and finding products that haven’t sold. The rest of the email is explained in the daily email.
