Terms of service
The agreement for using StockDigest: plans and billing through Shopify, cancelling, acceptable use, and the limits of forecasts and AI highlights.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Enki Studios, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Enki Studios”, “we” or “us”), for your use of StockDigest. “You” means the business that installs StockDigest on its Shopify store, and anyone who uses StockDigest for that business.
By installing or using StockDigest, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you’re accepting for a business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind it.
The service
StockDigest is a Shopify app. It reads your store’s products, inventory, orders and locations and works out how fast each product sells. Each morning, when there’s something to report, it emails a digest of what’s out of stock, what will run out before you can restock, how many to reorder and what isn’t selling, with short AI-written highlights on top. It also has a dashboard, digest history and settings inside your Shopify admin. The Pro plan adds instant alerts and stock per location. Our pricing page lists what each plan includes.
While your store has an active trial or plan, you may use StockDigest for that store’s business. We own StockDigest, this website and their content. These terms don’t transfer any ownership to you.
Who can use StockDigest
- You must have a Shopify store and use StockDigest for business purposes.
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a binding contract.
- You must follow Shopify’s terms while you use StockDigest.
- You’re responsible for how your staff, and anyone else you give access, use StockDigest.
Installing through Shopify
You install StockDigest from the Shopify App Store. Installing gives it read-only access to your store’s products, inventory, orders and locations. It can’t change them. Shopify’s own terms apply to your use of Shopify and the Shopify App Store.
After you install, StockDigest imports the last 60 days of sales and makes your first digest the same day: at your digest time if you install before it, or shortly after the import if you install later. Each email recipient must confirm their address before emails start.
Plans, free trial and billing
- Plans. Growth costs $19 a month and Pro costs $39 a month, in US dollars. Our pricing page lists what each includes.
- Free trial. Both plans start with a 14-day free trial. Charges start when the trial ends. Shopify’s billing terms apply to trials and charges.
- Billing through Shopify. Shopify bills you for StockDigest, and the charge appears on your Shopify bill. Shopify’s billing terms apply to these charges.
- Changing plans. You change plans from the app, which opens Shopify’s plan page. If you move from Pro to Growth, instant alerts and stock per location stop, and digests older than 90 days are deleted at the next nightly cleanup.
- No active plan. If your trial ends without a plan, or your subscription ends, StockDigest stops building digests and sending emails until you choose a plan.
- Price changes. We may change our prices. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your store.
- Refunds. Charges for time already billed aren’t refunded, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with your bill, contact us and we’ll look into it.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time by uninstalling StockDigest from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling cancels your subscription. There’s no separate cancellation step.
Uninstalling also deletes your store’s data right away, including your digest history and settings, as our Privacy policy explains. StockDigest has no export, so note anything you want to keep before you uninstall.
Charges already made are handled as described under “Refunds” above and in Shopify’s billing terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use StockDigest for anything unlawful, or in a way that breaks Shopify’s terms;
- add the email addresses of people who don’t expect StockDigest emails, or use StockDigest to send unwanted email;
- try to access another store’s data, or get around plan limits, the email confirmation step or our security measures;
- disrupt or overload StockDigest, or test it for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer StockDigest, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend your access if your use puts StockDigest, its email sending or other merchants at risk.
Forecasts and AI highlights are estimates
StockDigest helps you decide what to reorder. It doesn’t decide for you.
- Forecasts are estimates. Sales speed, days left, reorder amounts, the not-selling report and transfer suggestions come from your recent sales, your stock in Shopify and the settings you choose, such as lead time and cover days. They assume future sales will look like recent sales, so they can be wrong, for example for new products, seasonal demand, promotions or supplier delays. They’re only as accurate as the data in Shopify and your settings.
- Stock on the way. Only shipments that Shopify shows as in transit count as on the way. Purchase orders that haven’t shipped aren’t counted.
- AI highlights can be wrong. They’re written by an AI model. We check every number and product name against the day’s data before using them, but a highlight can still be incomplete or misleading.
- Emails and alerts can be late or missing. Email can be delayed, filtered as spam or lost. Instant alerts depend on Shopify’s stock-change notifications, are checked in batches, and are limited to 5 alert emails per store per 24 hours.
- You decide. You’re responsible for what you order, transfer, discount or stop selling. Check the numbers against what you know about your business before you act.
Availability and changes to the service
- We work to keep StockDigest running, but we don’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
- StockDigest depends on Shopify and Cloudflare. If they have problems or change their services, StockDigest may stop working, fully or in part. We aren’t responsible for their services.
- We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a major feature from your plan or stop offering StockDigest, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice.
- We may pause StockDigest briefly for maintenance or to protect its security.
Your data
- You keep ownership of your store’s data. You allow us to access and use it only to provide and support StockDigest, as described in our Privacy policy.
- You’re responsible for the settings you enter, such as supplier names, and for having permission to add each email address you add.
- We don’t sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Disclaimers
StockDigest is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that forecasts, AI highlights, emails or alerts will be accurate, complete, on time or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, sales, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible.
- We aren’t liable for stockouts, excess stock, lost sales or other costs that result from relying on forecasts, AI highlights, or late or missed emails and alerts.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to StockDigest or these terms is limited to the fees you paid for StockDigest in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.
Some places don’t allow these limits. Where that’s the case, they apply only as far as the law allows.
Termination
- You can stop using StockDigest at any time by uninstalling it.
- We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your plan isn’t paid, if Shopify ends our access to your store, or if the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
- When your use ends, your access stops and your store’s data is deleted as described in our Privacy policy.
- Parts of these terms that by their nature should continue after your use ends, including the disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law, continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll post them on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using StockDigest after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree, you can uninstall StockDigest.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about StockDigest or these terms will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to those courts’ jurisdiction.
