What counts as low

StockDigest checks every product that tracks inventory. The ones that need attention get one of three labels, most urgent first:

  • Out of stock: nothing left to sell.
  • Runs out before restock: it will sell out before a new order could arrive, so order today.
  • Low: within a week of that point, or at your low-stock level (10 units unless you change it).

Based on sales speed, not a fixed number

Shopify's admin has no low-stock setting. In Shopify Flow you can build an alert that emails you when a variant drops below a number you choose, or a scheduled summary of variants that are already low or out.

StockDigest works from each product's own sales speed and lead time instead, so a fast seller is flagged while there's still time to reorder, and a slow one isn't flagged too early. One email lists everything that needs attention, sorted by urgency, with days left and how many to order. On a day with nothing to report, it doesn't email at all.

The right people, at the right time

Send it to up to 3 people, or 10 on Pro. Each address confirms by email before anything is sent, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Pick the hour it arrives, in your store's time zone.

Can I choose when it arrives?

Yes. It comes at 7 AM in your store's time zone unless you pick another hour in Settings.

What happens on a day when nothing is low?

No email is sent. That day's digest is still in the app if you want to look.

Which products are included?

Active products that track inventory in Shopify. Gift cards and products that don't track inventory are left out.

Can I set a different low-stock level for some products?

Yes. Give any product its own low-stock level, lead time or supplier in Settings, under Product overrides. Lead time, cover days and the low-stock level

Does it replace Shopify Flow alerts?

It's a different approach. Flow alerts and summaries work from stock levels you set. StockDigest works from each product's sales speed and lead time, and adds days left and how many to order. You can use both.
